What is Certification/ Notarization of Copies of Documents?

  • A notarized/certified copy is a photocopy of an original document authenticated by a Notary Public as a certified true copy of the original.

At F1 Document Services, we certify copies of the following documents:

  • Canadian/US Identifications (Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Passport, Driver’s License, etc.)
  • Foreign Passports
  • Documents issued by Canadian government authorities (federal/provincial/municipal)
  • Documents issued by Canadian public institutions (Certificate/Diploma/Degree/Transcript, etc.)

How to obtain this service from F1 Document Services?

Currently, we only offer this in-person notary service by appointment at these 2 locations:

Mississauga (Dundas/Dixie) : Unit 126 – 1454 Dundas St E, Mississauga, ON L4X 1L4

Vaughan: Unit 200 – 1750 Steeles Ave W, Vaughan, ON L4K 2L7

What you need to know before your visit?

  • Bring the Original Document: The notary must have the original documents that need to be notarized.
  • Provide Photocopies: We suggest you to bring your own photocopies to expedite the process. However, we can make copies of the original documents and certify them for you.
  • Other People’s Documents: We can notarize other people’s documents, as long as you are authorized to bring the documents to us and we can see the original documents.
  • Color or Black & White Copies: We typically offer this service for Black & White copies. Please verify with the office receiving these certified copies whether color copies are required.
  • Multiple Documents on One Page: Each document should generally be notarized on a separate page. However, some authorities may accept multiple documents to be notarized on a single page. It’s your responsibility to check with them before proceeding with this option and we only do this upon your request.
  • Multi-Page Documents: We normally apply the seal on the first page and stamp all pages together. However, we can seal and stamp them separately upon your request for an additional fee, if it is specified by the receiving office.

Why Do You Need Certification/Notarization of Copies of Documents?

Certain authorizations may require you to submit certified copies of documents such as your IDs, criminal record checks, transcripts to support your visa, work, immigration applications, or other needs.

Also, many countries require your RCMP Criminal Record Check or other IDs apostilled to be legally used abroad. To obtain the Apostille service, those documents may need to be copied and notarized first. For more information about this process, please visit our Apostille Services page.

Why Choose Us?

  • Integrated Fingerprinting Services: The combination of our fingerprinting for RCMP criminal record checks, notary and apostille services will help you save both time and effort, giving you peace of mind by reducing the number of steps required after receiving the criminal record check.
  • Flexibility: We are open from Monday through Saturday, offering the flexibility to get it done either on weekdays or weekends.
  • Affordability: We are confident to say that our price for this service is one of the cheapest you can find for a quality notary service in the market.
